Christmas Bird Count 2004
 
The Moncton Christmas Bird Count 2004 took place on December 18, 2004.  Club members and friends  were out counting  the birds in a 24-kilometre diameter circle in the greater Moncton area. The day was sunny with morning temperatures ranging from -14 to -5 in the afternoon and the wind in a westerly direction at 10 kph.  The ground was frozen with a small hard crust of ice on it.  Rivers, ponds and small brooks and streams were frozen over with little flowing water. 

A total of 53 species and 14867 individual birds were counted this day and also included in the tally were four feeder watchers who took part counted the birds at their feeders.
